| 内容記述 | 現代日本語における「誤用」の事例として、“名前負け” という語を取り上げる。この語は〈自分の立派な名前に自分の実質が負けること〉という意味で使うのが「正用」であるが、近年、〈相手の名前に威圧され気持ちで負けること〉という「誤用」が指摘されている。この事例について、まず「誤用」例の初出は1932（昭和7）年に、そのような用法の指摘は1966（昭和41）年にまで㴑れることを示した。さらに、今日の新聞記事を調査した結果、スポーツ関連の記事では「誤用」が、それ以外の記事では「正用」が優勢という特徴が顕著に見られた。そして、「誤用」は、スポーツの中でも特に、実力差が大きく〈相手の名前に威圧され気持ちで負ける〉という状況が起きやすい、高校野球に代表される学生スポーツの世界での一種の「集団語」という性格が見てとれること、その一方で2011 年ごろ以降は「誤用」例が減少しており、これは各紙の規範意識の変化によると考えられることを述べた。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | As an example of “misuse” - in modern Japanese, I take up the word “namaemake（名前負け）”. “Correct usage” of this word is to use it in the sense that〈 one’s substance is inferior to the excellent name of oneself〉, but in recent years it has been “misused” in the sense of〈 being coerced by the name of the opponent〉. At first, I will show the first example of the “misuse” of this word occurred in 1932（7, Showa） and the first indication of such usage was discovered in 1966（41, Showa）. Furthermore, as a result of having investigated newspaper articles from the present, it is clear that the “misuse” is predominant in sports-related articles, and “correct usage” is predominant in all other articles. I show that the “misuse” of this word is a kind of jargon in the world of student sports represented by high school baseball, where 〈being coerced by the name of the opponent〉 can easily happen. On the other hand, I show that examples of “misuse” have been decreasing since about 2011, and this depends on a change of the norm consciousness of newspapers. | |||||
