| 内容記述 | I surveyed the trends in teaching world geography， mainly in the compulsory education stage after the end of the 1970 s in Japan， China and Korea． In Japan， in the following 30 years， the learning content and school hours for all subjects， particularly world geography， was reduced considerably． In China， the curriculum that attached great importance to world geography continued to be used until the end of the twentieth century． However， although the curriculum reform of basic education in 2001 introduced and integrated subjects such as ‘Society and Morals’and‘History and Society’， the learning content of world geography has decreased considerably． In Korea， although world geography is taught in an effective manner， the next curriculum reform is considering a large reduction in the learning content of world geography to correspond to the five－day week school system． As a result， the learning content alld school hours with respect to teaching world geography have reduced in these three East Asian countries． Moreover， Iearning about their neighbouring countries is disregarded． It is necessary to have comprehensive knowledge of our neighbouring countries． Therefore， I suggest that Japan， China and Korea introduce a similar subject called‘East Asian Geography’． | |||||
