| 内容記述 | The purpose of this study is to observe Shakespeare’s technique in rhetoric, especially on the repetition of words, phrases and sentences, or the lining up of the variation of these factors, and to identify how his rhetoric contributes to the Bard’s style. In our research that has been done so far, it is clear that “three” is the number of such repetition or lining up most often observed and “this gives life” 1）to Shakespeare’s artistic technique with strong intention. In this paper, we will examine the rhetorical art in Henry the Fifth （H5）, which is composed of 60% of verse and 40% of prose. What diff erence can be found out between H5 with such mixed style and the Trilogy of H6 composed of only blank verse, is another topic in this paper. |
