| 内容記述 | The purpose of this paper is to offer some opportunities of the reassessment of Tatsu no Miyako Shikoku Uwasa （Shikoku Uwasa,「龍都四国噂」）, written by Kisanji Hôseidô（1780）, by analyzing the story, and expanding the interpretation. One of our attempts here, is to focus on Yaozô and reconsider his role in the overall structure of the story. Yaozô was a kabuki actor, whose formal stage name, Ichikawa Yaozô II. He died in 1777 at the age of 43. The reason why we emphasize Yaozô is, he was so popular an actor that his death was missed by many fans, especially by women in Edo, and his action was taken up in gesaku, one of the entertainment literatures. In the structure of Shikoku Uwasa, the topic of his death was picked up with an important meaning. It seems his death was the key to the revaluation. As our supplement, we should especially see how Shikoku Uwasa was influenced by Nenashigusa, in which the kabuki actor’s death was told, by compering both works. The latter was written by Hiraga Gennai in 1763. Therefore, we could confirm that Kisanji wrote Shikoku Uwasa, being conscious of Gennai’s gesaku. | |||||
