| 内容記述 | 「パリの住人の日記」は15世紀前半、パリで暮らした人が書き残した日記である。名も素性も知られていない。日記とは呼ぶが、その実、出来事の回想、一年を振り返っての感想文など、覚え書きふうの記述も目立つ。唯一たしかな15世紀後半の書体の写本がヴァチカン図書館に保存されている。フォリオ版の紙187枚を綴じた冊子であって、最終ページが9行で終わっている下の余白に筆生マシオの署名が見える。ほぼ同時期にやはりパリで暮らし、「ヴィヨン遺言詩」と総称される詩集を残した文人がいたが、その詩集が収められている詞華集のひとつで、パリの国立図書館の分館であるアルスナール図書館が保存する詞華集の最終ページにジルベー・クークィ、ジャン・マシオ、クロード・マシオの三つの人名が見える。ヴァチカン写本の「マシオ」は、このジャンかクロードかが同一人と思われる。日記の一番古い日付の記事は1405年9月のもので、一番新しいのは1449年10月の記事である。ブルグーン家とオルレアン家の張り合いが、オルレアン侯ルイの闇討ち事件（1407）を切っ掛けに党派の争いに展開し、そこにイングランドのランカスター王家が、またそろノルマンディーに兵を入れる（1415）。日記はそのあたりからパリの暮らしの日常と非日常を記録し始める。かれは二十歳代の若者だったろうか。四十年後、老人のかれは、サンマーティン大通りのモーブエの水場のあたりに、仮舞台が組まれていて、「平和と戦争の物語」が演じられていたと実見報告する。これが残された一番最後の記事であって、なにかかれはかれの日記は「平和と戦争の物語」だといいたげではないか。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | “Pari no jUnin no hikki”（in French， it is called customarry‘‘Journal dlun bourgeois de Paris”）is the journal of a person who lived in Paris in the first half of the fifteenth century． Neither its writer’s name nor his social status is known to us， Only one verified manuscript is preserved in the Vatican Library． Its calligraphy points to the second half of the fifteenth century． The book contains 187 folios and on the last page one can see the signature“maciot”， most probably the name of its scribe． About one generation earier， there also lived in Paris a poet who left a series of poems called collectively“Testament Villon”． On the last page of the anthology of poems which contains“Testament Villon”， preserved in the Arsenal Library of Paris， one can see three names， Gilbert Coquille， Jean Maciot and Claude Maciot． The Vatican“Maciot”is most probably one of these two“Maciots”． The earliest dated item in the journal has the date of November 1405， the newest one October 1449． The feud between the house of Bourgogne and that of Orl6ans escalated into a partisan struggle on the murder of Louis， the duke of Orleans（1407）． The royal house of Lancaster of England re－opened the French War and occupied Normandy（1415）． The writer of the journal began his business． Conceivably he was in his twenties at that time． Pa『s6 quarant ans（after forty years）， the now oldman reports that， on the temporary stage by the “fbntaine de maubue”（outlet of city water nicknamed maubue），“on fist une tsbelle histoire depaix et deguerre”（one presented a very beautiful history of peace and war）． One reads it in the last item in the journal． As if he wanted to say that his joumel itself is a history of peace and waL | |||||
