In Ise monogatari , there are no scenes where the “koto” is played. Why don’t the woman in Ise monogatari play the “koto” ? 　As for this answer,there is a theory that assumes the status hierarchy of the characters was rewritten. 　In my main discourse, it considered it from the relation between the sense of sight and the sense of hearing that effectively produced the waka. 　Ise monogatari’s story centers round the waka.
