But at that time, no one remained who knew exactly about his acts and death. And so the traditions about St. Peter, regarded as facts, have come down even to the present day. Furthermore, not only the Roman Bishops but also other Bishops in the western part of the Roman Empire began to construct stories, and circulated them as “traditions” in order to establish the authority of the Roman Church, the only one “Sedes Apostolica” in the western part of the Roman Empire, and the church of the capital of the Empire where Jesus Christ was born.
