内容記述 | One of the most characteristic events that occurred during the second half of the Nanboku-cho period is known as the ennoblement of shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu. It is interpreted as an increase of Yoshimitsu’s power and the domination of the Samurai over the kuge. However, contemporary research seeks to understand Yoshimitsu’s ennoblement through the way the shogun was incorporated by kuge such as Nijo Yoshimoto who supported the reign of Emperor Go-Kogon. This paper discusses the relationship between the samurai and the court aristocracy during the Oan era when the Shogun’s Deputy Hosokawa Yoriyuki assumed governance as the guardian of Yoshimitsu, and the emperor Go-Kogon of the Northern court abdicated the throne in favour of his son Go-Enyu. This problem not only involved Yoriyuki, but also offcial spouse of the former shogun Shibukawa Koshi as well as the daimyos. This was not simply an internal affair of the Northern court. Since Yoriyuki supported the transfer of power from Go-Kogon to Go-Enyu the anti-Hosokawa faction criticized him as “favouritism.” This paper shows that Yoriyuki’s support to the Go-Kogon’s lineage was probably motivated by the existence of family bonds. Indeed, Yoriyuki’s daughter Hosokawa no Tsubone was married to the house Hirohashi, maternal relatives of emperor Go-Kogon, making the Hosokawa clan de facto parents of the Go-Kogon’s imperial lineage. It also has been established that the cousinhood of Yoshimitsu and Go-Enyu has had consequences on the relations between samurai and the kuge. The supporters of Go-Kogon’s lineage also gained the support of the Hosokawa clan daimyos, thus developing an even closer relationship. | |||||
