| 内容記述 | There was some political cleavage between the rural and urban areas in Authoritarian Korea： the ruling party had received much more political support from the rural， area and the opposition party， on the other hand， had their stronghold in the urban area． The so－called “Yeochon－Yado” phenomenon is ordinarily explained by the modernization theory that has focused on the authoritarian character of rural people， which was due to their old age and low educational level． This conventional view is statistically accepted， but has difficulty in elucidating what made the diversity of the support for the ruling party in the same rural area． It has a relation to the socioeconomic structure in the rural area：the support for the ruling party was stronger in the regions where it had been less stratified and where there were more middle farmers． This correlation was caused by the diversified capacity of the statistic penetration into the rural area． The authoritarian state had penetrated well into the less stratified regions， like Kyeong－sang－Do， and accordingly， strong support for the ruling Party had apPeared in those regions． On the other hand， the statistic penetration had difficulty in the more stratified regions， such as Cheol－la－Do；therefore， the opposition party could find their constituency in those regions． | |||||
