内容記述 | In response to an article by Tomita Komei criticizing“On the Song Dynasty Premiership,”published by the author more than ten years ago, he attempts to expand his study of imperial sovereignty during the Song period. This paper is divided into two parts. Part one discusses the relationship between monarch and subject, especially between the emperors and their ministers, headed by premiers. This is the aspect receiving most criticism that undtle emphasis was Iaid on opposition between the emperor and his ministers. The author argues・that he did not overlook the cooperatin and interdependence aspects, but did not stress thern, either, because the focal point of the discussion at thet time was different. Now, from the viewpoint of rnutual restrictions posed by the Chinese traditional political structure and also on the basis of the Song dynasty source materials, the author discusses the relationship thet such restrictions presupPosed for interdependence between the emperor and his ministers under such a dominant political system. Part two focuses on the remonstration system under factional politics, concluding that remonstration officers in Chinese history, especially those of the Song dynasty, did not constitute a third power independent from sovereign and premiership. Rather, they were tools controlled by certain factions (mainly, ruling groups)in order to restrict imperial sovereignty and to strug91e other factions. | |||||
