| 内容記述 | ‘Yorishiro’（依代）is a specialized term created by Shinobu Origuchi in 1915． The study of Japanese folklore， religion， and entertainment hist6ry has come a long way since it was coined． Nevertheless， because it is a new term， there are still many areas related to defining the concept， its content， and the process of creation that have not yet been elucidated． Asimilar word，‘torimono，’（採り物）also exists． There are those who say the two serve different functions， but in fact‘torimono’is encompassed by‘yorishiro’and their function is identical． There are many varieties of‘yorishiro’， but they can be broadly classified into two types： natural and artificia1． Natural things are those that are believed to be gods in and of themselves， while artificial things are created as a representation． There are three principles of particular note in the process 6f creating‘yorishiro’：compound composition，1ayering， and worldliness． These three principles are examined， using as examples‘Chansun’and the god of‘Sae’， tree worship， altars， and stages． | |||||
