| 内容記述 | School newsletters are an important means of communication between schools and parents, but it is said that foreign parents find them difficult to understand. Therefore, we provided reading support for parent and non-parent learners in the regional Japanese language class. Although the learners made reading errors due to their excessive focus on numbers and kanji, as well as difficulties in integrating information from multiple documents, it was observed that necessary information was extracted through explanations in Easy Japanese and tasks that involved picking out information from real newsletters. In addition, through understanding the meaning of school supplies such as “indoor shoes” and engaging in dialogical activities related to school events such as sports days and meetings, the learners deepened their understanding not only of school culture but also of Japanese society. Therefore, this practice can provide an opportunity for “non-parent Japanese language learning” and at the same time ser ve as a “point of contact with society,” which can be identified as the significance of this practice. | |||||||||||
