The support system in schools is still insufficient, and out-of-school support in cooperation with local communities is necessary. However, local learning support classes are non-formal educational settings where support is provided by volunteers, and a shortage of human resources is an issue. In particular, the challenges related to the children connected to foreign countries are thought to be even more significant in learning support classes that anyone can participate in. Through the analysis of the data from the review meetings of a local learning support class, the content of support, issues, and efforts to be made to improve support were clarified. As a result, it was pointed out that it is more important to provide support to encourage children to express themselves in Japanese, autonomy support, and emotional support.
