| 内容記述 | The present study focused on word recognition speed to investigate the cognitive aspects of shadowing by Japanese lerners. In the experiment, high and low auditory word recognition speeds were manipulated for advanced Chinese learners of Japanese. The results showed no difference between high and low auditory word recognition speeds in the rate of shadowing reproduction.On the other hand, different auditory word recognition speeds produced different results in the comprehension test, indicating that faster learners understood and shadowed the text content better than slower learners. These results indicate that rapid auditory perception and processing of vocabulary are crucial for effectively performing shadowing to enhance listening skills. | |||||||||||
