戦時下における「世相と良識 : 井伏鱒二『多甚古村』 センジカ ニオケル セソウ ト リョウシキ イブセ マスジ タジンコムラ Society and Common Sense in Times of War: Ibuse Masuji's Tajinko Mura 滝口, 明祥 タキグチ, アキヒロ Takiguchi, Akihiro application/pdf 井伏鱒二『多甚古村』は戦時下のベストセラーであり、井伏の代表作の一つである。だが同時代に「世相と良識」を描いたとして好評のうちに迎えられたこの作品は、戦後においては立て続けに批判の対象となるなど、評価にはかなりの振幅がある。検閲下に書かれた作品を評価する際には表面的な言葉に惑わされず、構造を読み解いていくという作業が特に重要となってくるだろう。農村を舞台にして、その「風俗」を描いた『多甚古村』は、同時代における「国民文学」という潮流に合致したものに見えるが、この作品を子細に読み解いていけば、その中に同時代の支配的な言説から逸脱する要素を種々見出すことが出来る。ただし、『多甚古村』の結末は実に「非常時」にふさわしいものとなっており、逸脱の諸要素は回収されていると言わざるを得ない。しかし、続編である「多甚古村補遺」が付け加わることによって、『多甚古村』の中にある批評性も効力を発揮するのだ。 Ibuse Masuji's Tajinko Mura was a wartime bestseller and is one of Ibuse's representative works. However, this work that was wellreceived as a depiction of society, and common sense at the time quickly became a target of criticism after the war and was evaluated in different ways. When evaluating works that were written under censorship, it is particularly important not to be deceived by how words appear on the surface but to decipher their underlying structure. Set in a farming village, Tajinko Mura, which gives a portrayal of the customs and manners of the day, can be seen as corresponding to the contemporaneous trend of 'national literature'. However, when we closely analyse this work, we find a range of elements that depart from the predominant discourse of time. Note, however, that the conclusion of Tajinko Mura is actually appropriate for 'times of emergency', and thus we cannot say that it recovers these elements of departure.
